Manawatū Youth Theatre (MYTH) is a vibrant youth production company dedicated to creating high-quality musical theatre while nurturing the next generation of performers and theatre makers in Palmerston North.

Each year, we stage a musical production in July at the Globe Theatre, with auditions held every March for young people aged 10–18. But MYTH is about so much more than what happens on stage.

We are passionate about providing an inclusive, supportive environment where every young person can find their place in theatre. Whether it’s performing, stage management, lighting, sound, set building, painting, costuming, or crew – there truly is a role for everyone. Through our mentoring approach, experienced creatives guide and support our rangatahi to grow skills, confidence, and leadership across all areas of production.

At MYTH, we see firsthand the power of theatre to build strong friendships, whanaungatanga, and a sense of belonging. We are proud to foster a safe, fun space where young people can express themselves, develop their talents, and be part of something bigger than themselves.
